The Dedication of the J.D. “Prof” Lafleur Visitor Center was held Sunday, March 14. We had a great turn out with many of Prof’s family members and friends in attendance as well as local community members. The Friends of the Arboretum provided the refreshments for the event. Acting President, Jim Foret was one of the speakers. The Lafleur family also donated an oil painting of Prof to be hung in the new center.

The Friends of the Arboretum are now a 501 (c) 3 charitable organization, as such all donations and dues are tax deductible. Thank you to all who helped to get this accomplished.
Jim Robinson accepts a check for the Friends from the General Federation of Women's Clubs of Louisiana. The money will be used to make repairs to the Handicap Trail that was damaged during Hurricane Gustav.
